Yes. Alaska law (18 AAC 31.330) requires all food workers to get a state food worker card within 30 days of starting a job.
If you are employed inside the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA), you must obtain a food worker card issued by the MOA instead of the state card.
Employers must keep a copy of each employee’s card during employment and for one year after the employee leaves. If you move to another job, you can print a new copy of your card at no cost and give it to your new employer. Always confirm with your local health authority or employer for any extra rules.
In many areas, yes. Some local jurisdictions require all employees handling unpackaged food, utensils, or food-contact surfaces to complete food safety certification. AAA Food Handler’s Alaska Food Safety Course is designed to meet these local rules.
Even though food allergen training is not a statewide requirement in Alaska, restaurants benefit from having trained staff who can prevent allergen cross-contact. AAA Food Handler’s allergen awareness course helps workers safely serve customers with dietary restrictions.
Alaska requires managers to earn an ANAB-accredited certification to ensure they can identify risks, monitor kitchen practices, and respond quickly to potential food safety issues.
This credential shows that a manager has received nationally recognized training endorsed by agencies like the CDC and FDA, helping food businesses maintain legal compliance and protect the public from foodborne illnesses.
In Alaska, the certification is valid for five years. To renew, you must retake and pass a nationally accredited food manager certification through the ANAB and the Conference for Food Protection (CFP).
With AAA Food Handler’s online program, you can complete training in a few hours and print your Alaska food handler card immediately upon passing the exam.
AAA Food Handler has over 10 years of experience in food handler, food manager, and allergen safety training. These courses meets state and local health regulations and provides recognized credentials.
Yes. Because AAA Food Handler’s programs are ANAB Accredited and meet CFP standards, your certification will be valid in most U.S. states.
Food Handler Reviews
4.9
This course was quick but still held vital information that helped me learn more about being a food handler in the industry. The content covered held all of the basics along with some new information I did not know about prior.
Very thorough, maybe a little to much because i don’t remember the course being this long some years ago. I fear as time goes on it will just get longer and longer and not focus on the main points. a lot of this could have been put in a separate training course later down the road.
easy to complete
This is the most comprehensive course i have ever taken
The training used many tools like videos and pictures to help with the food handler training. Very informative!
Was very easy and simple to complete.
so good
I learned somethings I didnt know and found the program easy to navigate
This was a very easy course to follow and take the exam. Thanks for making it very clear and simple.
Very well done
The division of an apparent continuous video added an unneeded level of complexity to the course. In my opinion I there were no division, not only would the course be faster, but also smoother for the student. Along with this, the speed at which the information is read was very slow. With the combination of extended pauses, the videos were lengthened to an unnecessary degree. However, the interactive parts of the videos were quite engaging and gave the student a reason to comprehend what they had been explained.
Learned a lot about food safety.
It was pretty easy to follow along and imformative
Easy and fast fantastic

Was very informative and helpful
This was just a longer version of the standard food handlers course. Feels more bureaucratic than useful.
Would like take away notes and to be able to rewind and replay without starting over. Excellent presentation and useful thank you
Every course was easy to understand and to remember! Everything was fantastic.
Great and fun to learn!
This course has been extremely informative about how to properly handle food when cooking cooling and storing. Not handling food properly could cause illness and even death. It is always safe to follow proper procedures and guideline when preparing food. Where you dine is equally as important as to where your purchase food for cooking. For our own safety and the safety of our loved ones it is important that we do everything possible to stay safe from any foodborne illnesses. Those of us that prepare food for others must be aware of all dangers that could take place by not washing our hands effectively. There is so must to learn about keeping everyone safe in the food industry, this course is an important leap forward in doing just that. There should be no corners cut when preparing food.
Course was easy to maneuver through. English was presented clear and understandable. I like the fact you can pause and pick up later where you left off without trying to find out where you left off at. It starts automatically.
Great
I found this food manager course to very informative. I learned a great deal of information regarding handling and managing food.

I thought the course was easy to follow along with and well presented. The follow up questions within the modules were helpful as well.
I enjoyed learning again all information. I was happy to know that there are new things out that can affect what I do at my job. The teachings were very helpful.
Very informative and easy to follow
Information is kept straightforward and simple to remember
Information communicated concisely! Website a tad glitchy but nothing that inhibited continuing the training. Glad to have some clear answers to a few looming questions. Thanks to Maria!

SImple, informative, and decent time.
Long, but good
This training was very helpful with helping food preparers understand the severity of food allergens and how to work with foods that cause potential allergies.
It was good.
Most staff members take this course while still performing other on the clock duties. The case study does not offer anything productive to the course, and increases the time (and cost) to go through unnecessarily.
Other than that, solid and informative.
easy and informative
Loved it. Easy, fast, and reliable and worth it.
Very good leaning experience
Not bad pricing well worth it.
Very Informative and most salient in today’s restaurant industry.
great
It was a course, but honestly, this could of been done during the food handlers course. No reason to pay an extra $13 for a course
For starters, I love the freedom of working from home. Being able to review each module a second time if necessary allows the ability to get a clear understanding of the lesson. The practice test preps you for the final exam!
great information
