About the Author

Korey Chong is a nationally recognized food safety expert, biotechnology researcher, HR compliance trainer, and restaurant industry consultant with more than 20 years of experience supporting food service operators across the United States. Having roots in both Texas and California, Korey has also provided training and consulting in Washington, Illinois, and Florida, giving him broad expertise across multiple regulatory regions.

He holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from  University of California, San Diego and spent more than 10 years in biotechnology research, publishing in respected scientific journals including The Journal of Biological Chemistry and the Journal of Immunological Methods. His scientific background supports his evidence-based approach to food safety, allergen control, and workforce training.

As President of AAA Food Handler, Korey leads an ANSI-accredited Certified Food Protection Manager exam, along with ANAB-accredited Food Handler and ANAB-accredited Allergen Awareness training programs. He has been involved with ANAB since the early development of the Food Handler Law and has trained thousands of food managers, food handlers, and hospitality teams since 2005 and one of the first to get approved under ASTM E2659.

Korey also delivers sexual harassment prevention training and has trained HR professionals for more than 20 years. His consulting focuses on food safety systems, allergen compliance, internal audits, HR development, and regulatory readiness.
