Know Before You Train
It confirms that a food service manager has completed an ANAB-accredited training program and passed an approved exam. This certification ensures compliance with Maricopa County health regulations and equips managers to prevent foodborne illnesses, safeguard customers, and maintain high standards of food safety.
Arizona law requires at least one Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) to be present at all times. This is typically an owner, head chef, or manager. While not all employees need certification, having multiple CFPMs strengthens compliance and ensures safe operations.
AAA Food Handler provides a 100% online, self-paced training program available in English and Spanish. After completing the course, you can take the ANAB-accredited Food Protection Manager Exam online. Passing the exam instantly grants a printable certificate recognized by Maricopa County.
The certification is valid for up to 5 years. Renewal involves passing a new ANAB-accredited exam before the expiration date. Some local jurisdictions may have additional requirements, so it’s essential to verify county-specific rules.
Yes, with clarification. The CFPM must be physically present, accessible electronically, or reachable by phone while the establishment operates. AAA Food Handler’s online ANAB-accredited program fulfills the certification requirement, but the manager must also meet county accessibility standards.
Training covers critical topics, including:
Managerial responsibilities in food safety compliance
This ensures managers are fully prepared to oversee food safety operations.
Yes! AAA Food Handler supports group registration, allowing employers to monitor progress and exam completion for all employees in a single dashboard. This simplifies compliance for restaurants, catering services, and other large operations.
Absolutely. The program is ANAB-accredited, meets Maricopa County Health Department standards, and is recognized under Arizona state law (HB 2436). Certificates issued are valid for legal compliance and operational requirements.
Certified managers help reduce food safety risks, prevent outbreaks, and improve workplace morale. They also enhance operational efficiency, minimize health code violations, and boost your establishment’s reputation for safe and high-quality food service.
Certified managers establish and enforce food safety policies, train staff, and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance. This reduces the risk of foodborne illness, protects your business, and enhances workplace productivity and customer confidence.
Food Manager Reviews
4.9
This course made getting certified simple and effortless with thorough lessons and details. Certainly recommended!
I just finished the Food Manager course and found it incredibly straightforward. The section on FAT TOM and the BIG 9 allergens was broken down in a way that actually makes sense for a busy kitchen environment. It focuses on real world risks, like why can’t you just ‘cook out’ toxins. Great for anyone needing their certification without the fluff.
After having completed the servsafe food manager training in person years ago and needing another course for licensing in the state of MN, I choose AAA and the course took less than half the time as being in person. This covers the same stuff as servsafe although in slightly less depth. This is totally fine if you’re in the industry and looking to get this taken care of quickly because you already know all this material. There is quite literally nothing new here aside from the shininess and expiration date of your updated certification.
This was an informative training. It was nice to brush up on what topics I had forgotten about.
Very informative
informative
The content is nicely laid out, and to the point. The mini quizzes throughout the training process are helpful. The packages are priced well.
Although signing in was difficult But, once I signed in it was fairly easy to follow along. Although the website is kind of corky it would not recognize my password unless I put it is 4x’s. I do suggest you purchase the Diamond course. I like having the practice test with sample questions and unlimited access. I trust I will pass the test.
Course is complete knowledge full
Was super helpful and very informational. Loved that we are able to pause and re-watch videos. I also really admire the fact that there is a practice exam that can be taken many times until the individual feels they are ready.
The course is wonderful and it has the greatest feature of all-the ability to speed up the lessons so you can watch it at 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, and 2x the normal speed.
The course is informative but didn’t get bogged down by unnecessary information.
There is something that I found incorrect, however.
Review section 2 had a question about parasites. You don’t cover parasites in the course until after that review.
Taught me everything I needed to know for the food handler exam!
Informative and easy to get through
