Pennsylvania requires each licensed food facility to have at least one employee with a Food Manager Certification. Nonprofit and certain low-risk operations (for example, those selling only sealed, prepackaged food) may be exempt. The certified manager does not have to be on-site every hour, but must be immediately accessible during all hours, and may represent only one facility at a time. Some local health jurisdictions—including Philadelphia—set additional requirements and accepted providers, so businesses should confirm local rules before training and testing.
Certification is valid for the period set by the accredited program, up to five years. Plan to renew by completing the process again before it expires.
Yes. The exam can be taken through online proctoring with approved providers. AAA Food Handler prepares you for a CFPM exam accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and meeting CFP standards.
Regulations specify that the Person in Charge (PIC) must hold the certification when on-site. In many businesses, this role is typically held by an owner, manager, kitchen manager, or head chef. Some employers also ask shift leads or department managers to certify to strengthen coverage.
A CFPM oversees compliance with local food safety rules, trains employees in safe handling, sets policies to reduce hazards, monitors daily execution, corrects errors quickly, and confirms that vendors and deliveries meet safety standards—keeping the operation inspection-ready.
Managers carry broad food safety responsibilities and are best positioned to prevent foodborne illness. Completing a Food Protection Manager Certification by passing an ANAB-accredited exam (meeting CFP standards) ensures that knowledge has been verified against nationally recognized benchmarks.

This is a very easy way to get your managers certification. You can do this a your own pace.
The videos were very informative, lomg enough and very clear.
Sure, it wasn’t the best training of my life, but it wasn’t bad.
after tacking the classes, you realize how much you really did not know and all the hidden dangers in a kitchen . learning how care and safely serve people gives me more confidence in success everything has been easy and well explained.
Very easy training sessions that walk you through each module, and the tests in the middle are very helpful to prepare for the exam.
My overall review to the course is I like how they gave us mini quizzes while watching the video because I’m more of a hands-on learner so practicing my brain in between videos helped me. There was a lot to learn but I do feel like they put too much in module two of the module directory.
It is a great training and covered everything.
