A San Jose Food Manager Certification is an official credential proving that a manager or supervisor has demonstrated the knowledge needed to keep food safe and prevent foodborne illness. Under California Retail Food Code (CalCode) §113947, every food establishment that prepares, handles, or serves unpackaged, potentially hazardous food must have at least one Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM). The certificate must be kept on-site and available for inspection by the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health.
Any food facility—such as restaurants, catering businesses, food trucks, grocery delis, or school cafeterias—that handles non-prepackaged food must employ at least one CFPM. Temporary food facilities are exempt. If the certified manager leaves, the business has 60 days to bring a new CFPM on staff to stay compliant with county inspections.
To become a CFPM in San Jose, you must pass an exam accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB). While formal training is not mandatory, most managers choose an online food safety manager course to prepare. Exams can be taken through an approved online proctor or at a testing center.
A San Jose (California) Food Manager Certification is valid for five years. To maintain compliance after it expires, you must retake and pass the ANAB-accredited Food Protection Manager exam—there is no shorter renewal process.

This is a very easy way to get your managers certification. You can do this a your own pace.
The videos were very informative, lomg enough and very clear.
Sure, it wasn’t the best training of my life, but it wasn’t bad.
after tacking the classes, you realize how much you really did not know and all the hidden dangers in a kitchen . learning how care and safely serve people gives me more confidence in success everything has been easy and well explained.
Very easy training sessions that walk you through each module, and the tests in the middle are very helpful to prepare for the exam.
My overall review to the course is I like how they gave us mini quizzes while watching the video because I’m more of a hands-on learner so practicing my brain in between videos helped me. There was a lot to learn but I do feel like they put too much in module two of the module directory.
It is a great training and covered everything.
