Know Before You Train

What is San Bernardino Food Manager Certification?

San Bernardino Food Manager Certification is an official designation confirming that a food service supervisor has successfully completed a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) program through an ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) Accredited program and passed a state-approved exam. This certification ensures that managers are fully equipped to uphold safe food handling, sanitation, and operational standards across restaurants, catering services, and other food establishments in the county.

Under California law, every food facility must maintain at least one Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) on-site or on record to meet both state and local health requirements. The certification remains valid for five years and may be renewed by completing a refresher exam through an ANAB-accredited program.

Any individual responsible for overseeing food preparation, handling, or service must hold this certification. This includes:

  • Restaurant proprietors and general managers
  • Executive chefs and kitchen supervisors
  • Catering coordinators and banquet managers

California law requires that certified managers ensure operations adhere to health and safety regulations, particularly in establishments handling unpackaged or potentially hazardous foods.

I highly recommend that you take this course. The videos are short and to the point while also being very informative. The end of the lesson review quizzes are short and multiple choice, detailed without being overwhelming. The information in general is easy to follow and understand. I’ve already did the Food Handler, Responsible Alcohol Server and Allergen Certifications through here and I’ve passed all with two at 95% and one at 100% that’s how easy and knowledgeable the courses are.
