Education is the best tool to prevent, minimize, or eliminate foodborne illnesses and food hazards.
Training helps reduce or eliminate food safety hazards before they become major issues.
Reducing food safety complaints will create a happier workplace and in turn increase productivity.
Numerous professionals nationwide have already earned and renewed their card with AAA Food Handler — a trusted name in food safety training.
The Delaware Food Handlers Card is awarded after completing a state-recognized food safety training program accredited by ANAB. This course educates food service employees on critical safety practices, including proper food handling, hygiene standards, preventing cross-contamination, minimizing foodborne illnesses, and maintaining cleanliness. It also addresses regulations specific to Delaware. Obtaining this card is essential for individuals working in food preparation, service, or storage roles in restaurants, mobile food units, cafeterias, and similar establishments throughout the state.
There is no difference—Both terms refer to the document you receive after completing a recognized food safety course. Some counties or employers may refer to it as a “card,” but the certificate serves the same purpose—it proves you’ve completed an approved food safety course.
To get started with your Food Handler Certificate, select your state under the Food Handler tab, then click “Purchase English” or “Purchase Spanish.” Create your profile, complete the payment, and you can begin the course immediately.
After completing the course and passing the final assessment, you’ll receive a Delaware Food Handler Certificate. This document verifies that you have been trained in key food safety concepts and practices, and it can be shown to employers or health inspectors when required.
The course takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. It’s self-paced, so you can log in and out at your convenience.
Once enrolled, you’ll have full access to the Delaware Food Handler Course materials for 3 months for Food Handler and 1 year for Food Manager. That means you can review and study the content whenever it’s convenient for you.
Employers can take advantage of our bulk purchase options with discounted pricing. Once purchased, courses can be easily assigned to staff members. Managers also gain access to a centralized dashboard to track employee progress, manage certifications, and generate detailed reports for compliance and Course oversight.
You’ll have two attempts to pass the final exam at no additional cost. If you fail on your first try, you can review the course material and retake the test when ready.
To get your Delaware Food Handler Card, complete a course accredited by the ANAB. After finishing the course and passing the exam, you’ll receive a valid Food Handler Card accepted across the state
This course is approved and accredited by ANAB to meet Delaware’s food safety standards. It is recognized for use throughout the state, including New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties, and aligns with all required guidelines for the Food Handler certificate.
Holding a Delaware food handler card shows you how to safely handle, prepare, and serve food. It helps reduce the risk of foodborne illness and ensures you meet state compliance requirements for employment in restaurants and other food service settings.
Non-potentially hazardous foods like baked goods (without cream or custard), jams, jellies, candies, dry mixes, and granola. These must be shelf-stable and not require refrigeration.
The AAA Food Handler Card meets the food safety training requirement for Delaware’s Cottage Food Law, provided the course is accredited by the ANAB. The Delaware Division of Public Health recognizes this certification as meeting the necessary training requirements for cottage food operators.

This took way too long and the mobile version was not helpful. It had way too many issues with sound.
I did find the test to be simple and to the point questions. This was helpful as it was hard to take notes to study from the videos since you could not pause and rewind to repeat was said. That was the only downfall of this course, was not being able to take notes well
Very informational!

I was able to work through this course rather quicky. I made sure to make note of points that were revisited. The periodic review sessions were helpful in helping me retain information. I feel prepared for the exam.
Me parecio muy interesante y se aprende muchisimo, el curso es muy claro.
informative
The training was very informative and definitely refreshed my knowledge. I would definitely recommend this training to someone who is interested in receiving training in food service.
the material was informative. I just wish there was an option to speed up the videos as it would have helped me stay focused and less distracted.
really fun experience
This course made it easy to follow, learn quick, and get done in a timely manner.
Very easy and straightforward
the course was very easy to understand and very detailed and provided a lot of information to become a food manager
I felt that this course covered everything I needed.
Training was pretty thorough. Kind of annoying at times having to keep hitting next module but I guess it’s good to keep it interactive. Aside from that it was a pretty good training program.
The coarse was was very easy to follow and informative. Will help me become an asset to any food facility.
I have completed multiple versions of a Food Manager certification course, and this one was the quickest and most efficient one so far. I was relieved to see no annoying, useless characters or cheesy videos to demonstrate common sense ideas, or deal with clunky, unedited language or bad UI that often results in unnecessary missed questions on quizzes or tests. This course was straight forward, easy to listen to, provided accurate captions, moved at a decent pace, and included relevant, real-world information about food safety and its application at work. My only complaint is that occasionally, the videos would not load until clicking the screen multiple times to “jog” it to load. I also wish I could review each lesson as a whole, without restarting a module, once it was initially completed– some sections had to be completely restarted because of how the section was formatted (for instance, if it had a pop quiz in the middle of the module). The section reviews stayed on topic and were relevant to the course material, and the course as a whole followed a logical pattern that built on each previous concept and didn’t jump around between topics too much. All in all, a great course to get the job done and walk away feeling informed. Thank you!
Highly recommended!!
I learned a lot. Very detailed information given.

There was a bunch of info I did not know.
good site
The training was real easy, longer than I thought but chill and easy.
good

this course was solid
As far as information this course was great but the interface of the website could use work, it would be nice to have a contents tab to see progress and move freely through completed modules. The current system of many short videos with long loading pauses between each one is most of the reason for my mediocre review, each time it was loading felt longer than the last. These may only be issues on mobile devices as far as I know since I completed the entire course on an iPhone, but either way thought it was worth noting.
this course is very informative and helpful, the price was not bad and they give you clear and precise information and the quizzes where clear to understand .
It was a great course, with informative key points
