Education is the best tool to prevent, minimize, or eliminate foodborne illnesses and food hazards.
Training helps reduce or eliminate food safety hazards before they become major issues.
Reducing food safety complaints will create a happier workplace and in turn increase productivity.
The TABC Texas Training Program is an online course designed to educate alcohol servers on responsible alcohol service. It helps meet the legal requirements set by the Texas Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (TABC) and promotes safe, compliant alcohol service practices across the state.
To begin, create an account, pay the registration fee, and register for the course. Once registered, you can start the training anytime and access it online from anywhere.
The Texas Tabc Online Course lasts approximately 1.5 hours and can be completed at your own pace. You can stop and start the course whenever it’s convenient for you.
While participation is currently voluntary, anyone working in the alcohol service industry in Texas—including bartenders, servers, and managers, should complete Alcohol Server Training to ensure safe service and potential liability protection.
To earn your Alcohol Server Certificate, you need to score 70% or higher on the final exam. You’ll be given up to two attempts to pass.
Yes! The Texas Responsible Beverage Service Training is available in both English and Spanish, making it accessible to a wider audience.
You can check your progress through your account, which displays the portion of the course you’ve completed and what’s remaining.
Upon completing the course and passing the exam, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion available to download instantly as well as by email, verifying your Alcohol Server Certificate.
The TABC Texas training promotes responsible alcohol service, helps reduce the risk of serving minors or intoxicated persons, and supports compliance with Texas Alcohol Laws.
TABC certification isn’t required by Texas state law, but many employers strongly recommend or require it. That’s because it offers legal protection under the Safe Harbor Act. This act shields employers from administrative penalties by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) if an employee accidentally serves alcohol to a minor or intoxicated person—but only if certain conditions are met.
To qualify for this protection:
The employee must not be the owner or company officer.
The employee must have a current TABC certification from an approved school.
All staff involved in selling, serving, or delivering alcohol (and their direct managers) must be certified within 30 days of hire.
The business must have written policies on responsible alcohol service, and employees must read and understand them.
Employers must not encourage or pressure employees to break the law.
Getting certified not only protects your employer, but also helps you make smarter, safer decisions when serving alcohol and interacting with customers.
The TABC Texas Training Program follows guidelines set forth by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code, which outlines all rules related to Alcoholic Beverage Regulation in the state.
The TABC certificate is valid for 2 years.
The training is approved by the Texas Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (TABC).

Make sure you watch all the videos. Take notes on a note book. The test was very easy.
Everything in the test was covered during the training modules.
The training was very informative and very through I found the pop up quizzes to be helpful for the final exam. Not very hard to complete and most of the questions was self explanatory.
I had a great learning experience
Great course
simple and straight to the point
Easy to understand and quick to complete!
There was a lot of good information.
This course is convenient, efficient, and provides all the necessary information.
staff was very helpful and knowledgeable
I took this to help with finding jobs, but at the end, I came out of it with knowledge I should have known for a long time, and because of this, I now know the necessary precautions, advice, and other things to help me at home, and at work.
I thoroughly enjoyed the AAA Food Handler course. To my surprise, I learned very important safety protocols and steps in handling food in any food setting. This course should be taught as earliest as a kid to adults at their level of understanding to educate, prevent & safely handle food. Safety should be a priority at any age when handling food.
Very easy to complete and understand.

I found this training to cover all the bases. Though the volume levels were just bare minimum, I could hear most everything ok.
This course was thorough, and easy to follow. Although this is a 5 year renewal for me I still learned a lot. I liked the fact that the course was bundled and at a very reasonable price.
Thank you AAA
This was an informative and helpful. Easy to follow.
I enjoyed this course & all the material was easy to understand.
Very easy to access and understand. The visual aids as well as the commentary were extremely beneficial and I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who needs to complete their training
Easy to navigate
I TRULY LEARNED A LOT
I went over some modules a couple of times to absorb all the information in them. The only problem I had was with the actual test taking. I took the test through ServSafe and some topics were different so I was not able to give correct answers to some questions. They went more in depth on when food should be reheated or thrown out or how long to keep something even though it was stored at 41 or below and with choice of 5-7 days. Only one question on the ALERT System and I had memorized much of that. There were very few questions on the 9 different bacteria. Also, many questions about food deliveries, floor composition, etc. I passed the test but had to work to figure out answers that would be correct. I would have preferred to have a comprehensive practice test at the end in addition to the short quizzes at the end of each module. The module directory was good to have to review an item or 2.
I must say it was an incredibly smooth and rewarding experience. The course was quick, making it perfect for those with a busy schedule but still eager to learn. It was easy to navigate, and I never felt lost or overwhelmed at any point.
The content was clear and straightforward, allowing me to grasp the concepts quickly and confidently. The structure of the course made it simple to follow, with practical examples that helped reinforce the lessons.
Overall, I highly recommend the Food Handlers course to anyone looking to expand their knowledge in a fast, efficient, and user-friendly way!
Good material in general, a single summary slide for each module wold be very helpful.

Thank you!
This is the 2nd time taking the exam. It packs a lot of information in an easy to follow along process. Final exam asked clear questions.
I failed my first exam but when I actually took the time the second time watching the videos and taking notes and study it became easier I passed the second time it was still long but I did it very easy to understand and just do things.
Every module is very detailed and informative. Very easy to follow and comprehend the material in each module. Will definitely recommend this program to others.
Muy bueno
Easy to follow and very informative
I learned alot
Training was cool I like the way it set up simple easy to navigate and very easy to understand
There was good information, but the experience was not great. Here are some things I really did not like: the robot narrator was very annoying; the timing was often off between the audio and video; I could not go back to certain points in the video without replaying the entire video; the section on variances was not covered well; but then there are several points that get repeated many times. Repetition is good for learning, but these videos can be rewatched as many times as needed. Some of us don’t need that much repetition, and it just makes for an unnecessarily longer video.
