Education is the best tool to prevent, minimize, or eliminate foodborne illnesses and food hazards.
Training helps reduce or eliminate food safety hazards before they become major issues.
Reducing food safety complaints will create a happier workplace and in turn increase productivity.
Numerous professionals nationwide have already earned and renewed their card with AAA Food Handler — a trusted name in food safety training.
The Food Handler Card verifies that an individual has been trained in proper food safety practices, helping to reduce the risk of foodborne illness and improve hygiene standards in food service operations.
The course is designed to be completed in about 1.5 hours. It’s self-paced, meaning you can start, pause, and return anytime that fits your schedule.
Anyone working with food in restaurants, cafes, catering businesses, or similar roles must complete food handler training to comply with state health regulations. All food handlers—including cooks, servers, hostesses, dishwashers, and cashiers in convenience stores that serve potentially hazardous foods like soups, hot dogs, and other items prepared on-site—should be certified.
Food handler certificates are also recommended for individuals working in roles such as nurse’s aides, certified farmers markets, commissaries, grocery stores, licensed healthcare facilities, mobile support units, public and private school cafeterias, restricted food service facilities, and retail stores. Certification is advised for food facilities that provide internal food safety training to staff involved in food preparation, storage, or service; facilities operating under collective bargaining agreements with food handlers; and government-run institutions at the city, county, state, or regional level used for the confinement of adults or minors.
To earn your Utah Food Handlers Card, you must score at least 75% on the final exam. You’ll be given two opportunities to pass the 40-question test.
The total cost is $22.95, which includes the $15 Utah state permit fee. There are no hidden charges, and both English and Spanish versions are available.
Managers gain tools to track training progress and ensure staff are compliant, which boosts food safety, reduces violations, and promotes workplace efficiency.
To make learning more accessible, the course can be taken in either English or Spanish, allowing team members to complete training in the language they’re most comfortable with.
Educating employees on safe food handling procedures lowers the chances of contamination and complaints, which contributes to a more productive and compliant kitchen environment.
We offer an interactive and state-accredited course with a satisfaction guarantee, bulk pricing, and tools that help owners manage employee progress—all while meeting Utah’s official guidelines.
Utah requires Food Handler courses to be accredited by the ANAB, ensuring the training meets recognized food safety standards. ANAB-accredited programs provide credibility and are more likely to be accepted by local health departments during inspections.
Yes, the course works on mobile devices. For the best experience, use Chrome and switch to landscape mode if needed.

This is a very easy course to take. But the test includes even some small minor details. Pay attention to anything that has a number associated, and remember those types of contamination. You will get asked. I don’t think the test misses anything. So watch the course carefully to remember the details.
If text to speech (not AI; old school TTS) doesn’t bother you and you just want a simple class to get your food handlers certificate, then this is the class for you!
The course is very good, interesting and above all, they teach us different things to implement in our daily life at home
This is a great module to come back to when updating your food handlers it makes it a lot easier because you can make your account so you can come back to it almost any time to finish the course especially if you are busy

very good for course
The training is thorough and easy to apply. Flows well, the review quizzes cover the material and sometimes offer questions that make you think. It’s money well spent.
All the lesson were very informative!
Es practico y la voz de la instructora es agradable. Se capta casi toda la información y no cansa
This was a perfect review after 5 years. Easy to follow and appreciated the practice questions.
Even though i have been in the industry for over 20 years its always a good refresher to study this again. Thanks
This food saftey course brushes over the most important parts with the different food processes of receiving, processing, maintaining, and serving. As a lot of the information has been common sense, it is a good reminder to relearn as it’s important to make sure the food is safe for the customers to eat. I did also learn a lot of valuable information about the different food temperatures I didn’t know before taking the course. Overall, I would recommend this to every food manager even if not all the sections apply to them.
I learned a lot
Muy buena experiencia
Was very easy to understand and well paced. Not overly stacked with useless dialogue but just enough to get you to understand what and why.

Excellent course!

Es largo pero hay que prestar atención pero se me hizo fácil y educativo
Excellent course with emphasis on important items
I found the AAA training through the Dept of ABC’s website, as AAA was a recommended vendor.
The training sessions seemed to be greatly outdated, with clunky graphics and awkward slide transitions. The platform doesn’t appear to have been updated since prior to 2023. It would be helpful if the platform would allow trainees to back up 15 seconds or so to review information, instead the module needs to start over.
When a question is answered incorrectly, the platform doesn’t explain what the correct answer is or why, it moves directly to the next question. This doesn’t allow for enhanced learning.
At one point, a slide was suddenly in Spanish, despite still clearly being in English mode.
The “narrator” routinely mispronounced words such as “conTRACTors” instead of contractors, “aTEEvan” instead of Ativan, and “OONaformaty” instead of uniformity. This was highly distracting and should be corrected.
i learned a lot
