In Indiana, while training is not mandatory before taking the Food Protection Manager Certification exam, it is highly recommended. The Food Manager exam consists of 80 multiple-choice questions, but only 75 of them are scored. The remaining 5 are pilot questions used for research and do not count toward your final score. To pass the exam, you must achieve a minimum score of 70% based on the 75 graded questions.
